2022 Mission: It is the mission of the Marketing and Membership committee to promote and educate all fire service leaders on the value of membership, and to promote an inclusive and equitable environment for ideas and action to thrive.

2022 Report: The Marketing and Membership Committee wants to recognize the continued increase in engagement across our membership. We continue to regain the connectivity with fire chiefs and departments across the state as COVIDs impacts lessen. Our membership has led by example across the state by meeting their residents where they live, providing the highest level of care and protecting themselves through proper PPE and vaccinations

We have all become more comfortable with staying connected through more electronic means. Our membership has benefitted from the resources that the MSFCA has provided on its website so that Chief of the department can build sustainable recovery plans. The many resources on the MFSCA website, the digital E-Newsletter, and the magazine are reliable sources for information. All of this is possible as part of your membership in the organization, and now more than ever, you want to stay connected. There are always demands on our time and dollars however the return on investment of your MSFCA membership is measurable and cost effective. The website is the simplest way to manage your renewal as well as discover the many ways to connect throughout our network of highly engaged leaders. If you or someone in your department has any questions about renewing, please reach out to the committee or the MSFCA Office. As a reminder, the 2023 membership renewal process begins in December.

2022 has been a challenging year, however the return to the conference in 2021 really reinvigorated the energy within the organization. We continue to be financially strong because of responsible decision-making by our leadership. We have sustained our membership numbers with 1,598 members representing 358 departments. These departments and their leadership have made the conscious choice to advance the mission of their departments and the MSFCA. The conference in Duluth is right around the corner and attendance is expected to be strong. This will be a great opportunity to reconnect with friends, mentors, leaders and vendors who support our mission within the fire service. We know, as leaders in the fire service, that there will be other challenges that require significant engagement and collaboration, and your membership in this organization should position you effectively to respond. This might be the right time to consider belonging to the organization and stepping up to work on this committee. Marketing and Membership Committee plays an integral role in growing our membership, developing our leaders, creating solutions that make it easier for our leaders to lead and reinforcing the return on the investment of being a member of the MSFCA.

This is an exciting time to be part of the MSFCA, and I look forward to speaking with all of you about your ideas.
