Committee: Conference
2025 Mission: The mission of the Conference Committee is to provide leadership and direction to the Executive Director, who is responsible for managing the annual conference in October of each year. This committee exists to make sure the needs of the membership, as it pertains to the conference, are met. This committee interfaces with the Education Committee, the Marketing Committee and vendor representatives to ensure that a quality conference is offered at an affordable cost. Every effort is made to ensure exceptional educational offerings for all attendees.
2025 Report: Since the conclusion of the 2024 conference, the MSFCA Conference Committee has been hard at work preparing for 2025. The committee met in January to review last year’s event and launch planning for the upcoming conference. Much of our focus over the past several months has been on incorporating feedback from attendee and vendor surveys into the conference format. Our goal remains the same—to continuously improve the experience for both attendees and vendors.
This year’s conference will follow a similar overall format, with a few updates:
- Wednesday Evening – Welcome reception in the DECC lobby.
- Thursday Morning – Opening Ceremony with a symposium speaker. New this year: the Business Meeting will be held during the Opening Ceremony.
- Thursday Lunch – Sponsored by our generous vendors and held in the vendor area, with opportunities to connect with exhibitors throughout the afternoon and evening. The day will conclude with a vendor reception.
- Friday – A full day of educational sessions, both morning and afternoon, designed to expand your knowledge and skills. Lunch will provide an excellent networking opportunity. The evening will feature the annual Memorial Service and Awards Program—an important time to honor members we’ve lost and celebrate the achievements of current members.
- Saturday Morning – Closing Symposium speaker. Based on past feedback, the session will end earlier this year to allow more time for checkout and travel home. We encourage everyone to attend this valuable closing session.
Looking ahead, the Board of Directors has approved another
three-year contract at the DECC. In 2027 (October 20–23), 2028 (September 27–30), and 2029 (September 26–29), the conference will shift to September dates to allow for a larger exhibitor area.
We can’t wait to see you in October! If anything comes up during the conference that could make your experience more enjoyable, please reach out to any member of the Conference Committee or our Executive Director’s team. Enjoy your timein Duluth!
